About Tim Legler:

Former NBA player Tim Legler joined ESPN in 2000 as a studio analyst for ESPNEWS, and his role with the network has grown each year.  He appears regularly as an analyst of ESPN2’s NBA Coast to Coast, a weekly whip-around show that takes viewers to live NBA games across the country, and NBA Fastbreak (ESPN’s NBA highlights, news, and information show).  He also serves as a game analyst for select telecasts on ESPN and ESPN Radio broadcasts.

The sharp-shooting guard rose from the ranks of the CBA to NBA after leaving La Salle University in 1988.  He played for five NBA teams – the Phoenix Suns, Utah Jazz, Golden State Warriors, Dallas Mavericks, and Washington Wizards – over his ten year career.

In his first season with the Washington Wizards, Legler burst into the national spotlight at the 1996 NBA All-Star Weekend when he won the three-point shooting contest.  The players he defeated included Dennis Scott, Steve Kerr, and Glen Rice – to name a few.  Legler went on to lead the NBA in three-point shooting with a percentage of .522 that season, falling just shy of the all-time single-season record of .524.

Legler received an MBA degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 2002.
