Weidenhammer developed IRIS, a custom business operations platform for J.C. Ehrlich (later acquired by Rentokil), that has been in continuous production since 1998. When he sold the business, Mr. Ehrlich stated that this application was a key factor in his ability to grow the business to the level he did, and in securing the amount he received when he sold it. The IRIS application is still used by Rentokil/Terminix today at global level and is actively supported by Weidenhammer.
The IRIS Application
IRIS is a custom ERP handling all processing related to customers and services:
- Service Management: Handles three service types–recurring maintenance, one-off jobs, and merchandise–with complex scheduling patterns (weekly, monthly, seasonal variations)
- Revenue Recognition & Billing: Uniquely matches recognized revenue precisely to outgoing invoices, supporting varied billing frequencies independent of service schedules
- Accounts Receivable & Collections: Full AR system including collection letters, collection activity, and detailed statements
- Subcontractor Management: Links third-party providers to services and produces reporting for subcontractor payments
- Financial Integration: Exports detailed journals daily to financial ERP systems
- Field Operations & Mobile: Mobile integration delivers work details to technicians and receives completion data back via APIs
