When you run health insurance cooperatives for counties, school districts, townships, and boroughs, “close enough” isn’t an option. Every invoice has to reconcile. Every retroactive rate change has to land in the right place. Every enrollee who calls needs someone who can see their whole picture in one screen — not five.
That’s the day-to-day reality Benecon Group lives in. They provide actuarial, wellness, and compliance services for employers, and they build and administer self-funded benefits cooperatives for the public sector. It’s detailed, high-stakes work where a small data problem quietly becomes a large one.
Benecon has worked with Weidenhammer for more than twelve years. Not because of one big project, but because each problem we solved surfaced the next one worth solving.
Where the Work Started: Billing That Could Keep Up
Self-funded benefits create a billing problem most software isn’t built for. Benecon needed invoices that pulled from several systems at once, handled retroactive policy changes and rate adjustments without a rebuild every month, and stood up to scrutiny from AP, HR, and Finance teams who all read the same invoice differently.
We built BEDS, a custom billing and invoicing application, to do exactly that. It aggregates data from Salesforce, NetSuite, and other source systems to produce detailed, transparent invoices. It absorbs retroactive changes instead of choking on them. And it breaks down employee enrollment and service charges clearly enough that every department gets the report it actually needs.
The result: the team stopped hand-assembling billing data across systems, and started trusting the number on the invoice.
Then the Conversations Got Harder to Track
Benecon’s ConnectCare3 service helps enrollees manage chronic conditions, find the right healthcare resources, and understand their own care. That’s relationship work — and relationship work falls apart when the details live in someone’s memory instead of a system.
We built a custom case management application, integrated with their existing EMR, so nothing gets lost between calls. It gives their team a case queue with demographic data at a glance, automated intake forms, document management, and time tracking that feeds real utilization analysis. Power BI dashboards make the patterns visible, and Salesforce integration means the whole picture lives in one place.
Their own words say it best:
ConnectCare3, a health and wellness service provider for employees and their dependents covered by group benefits plans, needed a solution to better manage our client conversations. Weidenhammer provided a system that surpassed our expectations for client relationship management issues, time tracking, and related medical condition insights.

Then the Systems Had to Talk to Each Other
By this point Benecon’s information lived in a lot of places. Useful in isolation, fragmented in practice. Adding another point-to-point connection every time something changed wasn’t going to scale. So we gave them a central integration layer instead of a pile of one-off connections. Using Celigo, an iPaaS platform, we connected NetSuite, BEDS, and their other systems through a single cloud-native hub. Just as important, it’s built so people who aren’t developers can manage it — which means the ecosystem can keep growing without a bottleneck every time it does.
What Twelve + Years Has Delivered

Staff freed from manually organizing data and assembling documents across disconnected systems, so Benecon can scale without adding friction

Faster case management, with enrollee status identifiable at a glance

Billing and utilization documentation that holds up across AP, HR, and Finance

A central integration layer that lets the whole system grow without breaking

A partnership that compounded — each project earning the next
The Real Takeaway
The headline here isn’t any single application. It’s what happens when a partner sticks around long enough to understand how your business actually runs. Benecon didn’t buy a product. They built a working relationship where the next problem always had someone who already knew the context.
