Weidenhammer Consulting group was engaged to provide an independent review of the Just Born IT Department’s Infrastructure, Processes and Staffing. The objectives of the assessment were to 1) examine operational procedures, controls and configuration management; 2) critique the deployed technology strengths, weaknesses and areas of improvement; and 3) compare Just Born IT operations to Industry Best Practices.

Benefits Summary

The outcome of the assessment was a classification of each of 22 major technology processes, into a triage of Strong, Examine, and Weak. The report provided a description of the Current State of each area with comparisons to industry Best Practices. Issues and opportunities uncovered during the evaluation were also outlined for further consideration. These included application areas, IT Governance practices, support procedures, and suggested focus areas to realize improvements.

This assessment was a precursor to formal recommendations for a Future State report and the development of a roadmap from Current State practices to desired future environment. This Findings report was presented to the entire IT team for determination of next steps.
