Reading, PA – June 1, 2016 – Weidenhammer, a business focused on helping its clients transform their businesses using Marketing, Strategy and Information Technology, will be the sponsor of the Downtown Live outdoor concert series held in downtown Reading over the next three years.
Five free concerts featuring nationally-touring acts will perform on Penn Street as part of the new Downtown Alive by Weidenhammer performance series. Each concert, starting at 5:30 p.m., will feature a festival atmosphere and include food trucks and a beer garden.

The series is being staged at the intersection of Sixth and Penn Streets by the Reading Downtown Improvement District and the SMG-managed Santander Arena. Berks County Community Foundation is providing funding for the concerts. In addition, the Berks County Convention Center Authority is also financially supporting the series.
This year’s series kicks off on Wednesday, June 22 with the Brothers Osborne, a multi-ACM and Grammy-nominated country music duo. The remaining concerts include: The Struts (July 20), a rising English alternative rock band who have previously opened for the Rolling Stones and Motley Crue; Toad the Wet Sprocket and Rusted Root(August 17), rock bands who have had many hits on the Billboard Top 100 charts including “All I Want,” “Walk the Ocean” and “Send Me On My Way”; Marc Broussard (September 7), an American singer-songwriter with a style described as a mix of funk, blues, R&B, rock and pop with Southern roots; and the Pat McGee Band (October 15), a rock band from Richmond, Va., that has shared the stage with The Who, The Allman Brothers Band, Fleetwood Mac and many more.
The final concert will also serve as a kickoff to the Reading Royals hockey season, which begins that night at the Santander Arena.
