Reading, PA – December 8, 2016 – Weidenhammer, a provider of strategy, marketing, and technology solutions that focuses on digital business transformation, announced it has successfully completed the Service Organization Control 1 (SOC 1) and SOC 2, Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) 16 Type II audit from an independent CPA firm. This audit is an internationally-recognized standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and is the recognized mark of IT service quality.
This audit is for one year, and covers 7 specific areas, including: controlled environment, physical security, environmental security, computer operations-backup and storage, computer operations-uptime and maintenance, information security, and data communications.
“This audit provides independent, third-party verification that our operations meet or exceed best practice standards in key IT service areas, ensuring the highest levels of security and reliability,” states Rick Phillips, Vice President-Compute Solutions. “By successfully completing this audit, our customers and prospects are assured that we have been comprehensively examined by a third party to have sufficient safeguards and controls in place.
Weidenhammer has earned Type II designation, which is more comprehensive than Type I because it incorporates the auditor’s judgment on how efficient controls functioned during the defined six-month examination period. Weidenhammer was initially Type II designated in November 2009.
